I would stress that you MUST fit it in the order given in the instructions and, realistically, it is a two-person job. It could do with a slightly longer bolt included for where the damper bolts to the tailgate where the strap also bolts as, even with the washer removed, it only just bites. Also, the instructions are not that clear. Positive comment - works really well .

Managed to get the Pro-Lift to me within a few days despite the heavy snow! The Pro-Lift seems to be quite a good piece of kit.....certainly makes a massive difference to how the heavy Navara tailgate operates, literally one handed opening and closing. It was a little fiddly to fit and needed some fettling to get the tailgate to line up properly. When fitting the damper you definitely need to remove the washers from the tailgate anchor cable mount and DO NOT over tighten the bolt when re-fitting - you’ll strip the thread. Overall good service and a decent product for the price.

Although in retrospect I should have installed it myself I decided to let an expert fit it as it will be used by wife and grandchildren - so it had to be right !! The fitters at ST Leonards Motors (SLM Hastings) were so impressed with this product they thought it should be a standard product on all Navara. The tailgate now lift effortlessly and opening is so much safer and easier now the PROLIFT has been fitted - excellent !!
